Research, plan, design, write and edit a functional specification of Trace Management System (TMS). This was a document of over 80 pages with over 20 diagrams. It included a data model, a data dictionary a state model, over 15 process definitions, and an extensive glossary.
Restructure and substantial edit of 28 functional design documents for the main interfaces of COLLECT. I restructured and rewrote over 450 pages in 6 weeks. The main editing changes included:
Changing third person, passive, future tense to second person, active, present tense.
Structuring paragraphs of long sentences into lists or tables.
Adding subheadings, tables of contents and dynamic cross-references.
Removing technical jargon and expanding acronyms.
Restructure and update 65 functional design documents for all the forms in Collect. I embedded each form template in the specification as an OLE object. I updated references to department policies and procedures. I upgraded each specification to include physical implementation detail.
